Samples of headdress (also called a crown)

From Ed McCully's journal:

Nate made a perfect [bucket] drop. It landed in the clearing, towards the north side—but near center. They ran to it. I held the line and could feel their holding on to it. They cut pot off—AND TIED something on. Nate spotted it and praised the Lord. I didn't see it until we got back. When we got back to Wtosa. Nate dropped it—line fall on [?] the field. It landed on a steel girder. It turned out to be a "llaitu" or a head band with woven feathers 3/4 of the way around it. It has 4 bands of waska woven by strands and feathers attached in much the way our indians make llaitus. Red-yellow-black & blue feathers are in it. A real answer to prayer. Another sign to proceed. Another encouragement that friendly relations are possible and that they will hear the gospel.

Darts in quiver. Also includes woven bag and piranha teeth.

The woven bag was used to hold kapok that was twirled on a dart to give resistance to blow against). The piranha teeth were used to score the dart to keep it from falling out after hitting a hunted animal. (Item 84-1645)

Woman's fish net that doubled as a carrying bag
